Carefully open cocoon with your thumb nail (the pupa is easily damaged).
      
      Peel the dried cocoon away until the pupa is free.  The pupa will wiggle...
     
      Place pupae on slightly moist sand in mass rearing cage and/or store in
      refer. 'till next spring for release.
